Abstract

Black et al. have shown that the presence of a prior simultaneous, or subsequent in situ breast carcinoma (ISBC) is associated with better survival for patients withinvasive breast carcinoma.They propose an immunologic basis for this improved survival. Earlier, they had demonstrated the presence of an effective cell; mediated immunity (CMI) in a subset of breast carcinoma patients.
